The tool breaks an integer into its prime factors and tells you whether the number itself is prime. Every whole number above 1 has a unique prime factorisation, which is what this exposes.
Factorisation is meant for positive whole numbers. Very large inputs take longer because factoring grows harder as numbers grow — that difficulty is, incidentally, what a lot of cryptography relies on.
That is the promise behind every tool here. Files are read in your browser tab, processed there, and discarded when you close it — never uploaded to our servers.
