The common reason to split a PDF is that someone asked for a single page — one bank statement, one page of a lease, one certificate — and the full document contains information they have no need to see. Doing that split locally means the original never travels anywhere at all, which is the point when the surrounding pages are the sensitive part.
Pages are extracted with pdf-lib into standalone PDF files rather than images, so the text stays selectable and searchable and the page keeps its original dimensions. When you split into several files, the results are bundled into a single ZIP archive so you are not clicking through downloads one at a time.
Extracted pages keep their own content, but do not treat splitting as a redaction tool. Text hidden under a black box drawn in another program is still text in the file, and document metadata may travel with the extracted page. If material genuinely has to be unreadable, remove it properly in a PDF editor and verify the result before sharing.
That is the promise behind every tool here. Files are read in your browser tab, processed there, and discarded when you close it — never uploaded to our servers.
